After settling in, I went back to the desk and asked them if they could match the price. Erica, the on-duty front desk manager refused to do so, explaining that "we don't really do that, we don't guarantee those 3rd party sites' prices". I reiterated a second time that the price wasn't 3rd party - it was from Holiday Inn's website. I received another excuse that "we really shouldn't do that, it's after 6 PM." From this I gathered that it was possible to do so; Erica didn't want to bother doing it. I offered the suggestion to resolve the problem that if I were to cancel my current reservation and rebook my room online I could save a solid $15 on the room. I was told "we have first access to the reservation system so you get the best rate that's available at that time; $15 is really not that much money".
Great stay. We stopped to stay here for the night/day to take a break from driving. Great staff! They were welcoming and they even told us where to get the most amazing watermelon and cantelope. The Breakfast was really good. Beds are comfortable and clean. Bathroom was spacious .
You're right, $15 isn't that much money but a fair price is a fair price. $15 is dinner. If there is an advertising discrepancy, it should be honored. Customer service at its finest.
Found the hotel on Kayak on a drive back to Kansas City from the mountains.
Front desk staff were efficient but not overly welcoming. First floor had a stale smell but the 2nd floor was fine. Room was clean. Pool was clean and enjoyed taking my daughter swimming. Breakfast was okay. Have had better at other Holiday Inns.
I would not stay there again. I would not recommend you to stay there. If you do, book online!
As we were close to town and just looking for a pit stop for the night, I went inside to see if they had rooms available - I specifically asked for the best rate available. I was offered a King bed room at $137 plus tax. I already called the Hampton Inn who was booked up and only desired a comfortable bed so we splurged. I got back to the car and found my Kayak app still up. I use Kayak to compare rates between hotels and never book through anything but the hotel's website. Holiday Inn's website advertised the same room for $124.
Hotel provide welcome cookies & dog treat when you check in. Staffs very friendly, easy check in/out. Rooms are clean & well maintained. The awesome part is heated pool, kids had a blast & didn't feel cold. The hot tub just a bit warmer than pool. Breakfast also pretty good and have hot/cold options. There are 2 ladies during breakfast duty even though the area is small. Overall it's good for kids because of the warm water in pool & comfortable beds.
The rooms are clean if a bit worn down. The front desk folks are very nice, and the breakfast was decent.
