Bent's Fort is a very interesting restored historic site. It is surprising the fort is much smaller than we would imagine from our modern view. However, this site makes our imagination soar how the frontier days used to be. It takes about a day or two to look around if we start the journey from Denver. The area is avid during winter, but it could be fun to visit nearby cities like Rocky Ford.

Unbelievable, this is a fantastic fort to put on your list of must see if you are traveling through the states and you want authenticity. This is so well done you almost feel like you are back in time, we loved it.
And they have fort cats.
A great place, lot of historic information and a super nice staff. Plus, in the fall, the tarantulas are migrating, so one gets to see a lot of them.
Bent's Old Fort was an important trading post on the Santa Fe trail. It is a restoration of the fort which was burned down. There is a self-guided pamphlet I recommend everyone to have before coming to each room. The information helps understand the life back to 1840s as well as historical moments happened inside the fort.
