What a joke of a school. No wonder they score so low with the state. This school district has been failing for so long. Come on people wake up! Our kids deserve a better education then this school district offers. School staff that make a mountain out of a mole hill or overreact to silly squabbles between students. They try and make every situation into a Columbine scenario when a student has an altercation with another student. I have older kids and we have seen the same thing play out over and over again in la junta & rocky ford school districts. Racial profiling and singling out of Hispanic students. A majority of the hispanic students in this school district are in special education. I know because it happen to my older kids (2 girls & 3 boys) but yet when we moved out of the area and had our kids Pueblo Schools for a year then purchased our other house in Fountain CO, our kids went to school in their district and never were they in trouble, special education classes or singled out for being a minority. I am a concerned parent & tax payer that feels that our kids deserve a better education then they are receiving in the la junta school district.
