Great authentic Mexican food. Reminds me of the cooking at some family events when I was younger. Small but really nice atmosphere.
Great food, made fresh. Friendly 3rd generation owners. We stopped while traveling through town during their afternoon closed hours. They saw us standing outside trying to figure out our next options, they unlocked the door, brought us in and insisted we order. Everything was great, particularly the homemade salsa, the tamales, and the bean/potato burrito. We will definitely stop again whenever we pass through La Junta again!
One of the oldest restaurants in La Junta, might even be the oldest, and I can't say that it's changed in all the years I've gone there. Simple and straightforward menu, very cosy atmosphere, good price. The Azteca burrito is very good, and the other options are fine, if uninspiring. The wait staff have been good, but a few times that I've gone the service has been very slow. But sometimes it's been fast, so I suppose it depends on the day.
I've eaten at this restaurant for over 30 years and I love it! Awesome food, great service, and reasonable prices.
